Helping children and parents flourish one day at a time
My name is Dennyse, and I am so glad that you are here. I am excited to work with you and your child. Families have always been important to me. Both as a wife and as a mother of five adult children, I know the importance of family and growing together. I also know the difficulties that often go with family life and am honored to work alongside you and your family.
I work from an attachment-based, trauma-informed, family systems perspective. I love to help children in therapy through play and using puppets, books, and sand play. I especially value the importance of mindfulness and enjoy helping children learn to identify and make choices relating to feelings. I have experience with helping children with problems relating to dysregulation, developmental delays, autism, and ADHD. I work with children (zero to 12 years old) and their parents.
Working with parents is a highlight of my work, as strong families begin with moms and dads who love and respect one another and are on the same page when it comes to parenting. Parent therapy can be with one of the parents, or both, and with or without children present, whatever works best for your family’s flourishing is what I want.
My bachelor’s degree is from Asbury University (outside of Lexington, Kentucky), and my master’s degree is from the University of Kentucky. I also have advanced training in infant, early childhood, and family mental health through the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and a Pediatric Mental Health Certificate from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay.
The Center for Flourishing provides care through private pay. I can provide a “super bill” for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement, and I also offer a sliding scale for families who need it. The cost for therapy is $150 an hour.
