What does it mean to flourish?
GOING DEEPER - understanding and seeking flourishing
God’s Will
In the beginning God created the world, and as His climax of creativity He created men and women. He created them in His image. God’s heart is that humans, made in His image, would flourish as image bearers. That they would enjoy the life God has given, and become all that He created the to be at the beginning.
Your Life’s Design
Our body is designed by God at the beginning. Most obviously our bodies themselves grow from when we are born to when we have reached our full stature. Our non-physical, such as our mind, will, emotions, spiritual, soul are all designed to grow and flourish as well.
A Lifetime Goal
To flourish is not a static goal, but a continual one. We do not arrive at flourishing, but enjoy the process, the journey of life that God has given. To flourish means to become what God has created us, and in that becoming, we take steps every day, prayerfully we take steps forward and not backwards.
Measurable
Developing strategies for measuring one’s flourishing is helpful. Finding unique, personal ways to measure our sense of flourishing gives clarity to our efforts and provides guidelines for them.
